Overall Rating : 4.5/5

Much before I watched DELHI BELLY, I was told very categorically that the film will reduce to rubble the image of Aamir Khan, the producer, which he has very painstakingly and meticulously built over the years. I disagree with this viewpoint. Sure, Aamir Khan steps into a territory that is least expected of him. Agree, DELHI BELLY is expletive-ridden, has several scandalous moments which give you a 440 volt ka jhatka and is just not for the faint-hearted. But DELHI BELLY is not outrageous just for the sake of it. It doesn't shock for effect. The truth is, DELHI BELLY has a novel story to tell and the cuss words/outrageous moments are integral to the plotline and have been juxtaposed seamlessly in the narrative.

Let me introduce you to DELHI BELLY. It is Bollywood's most daring, cheeky, irreverent, blasphemous, raunchy youth film to date and the lurid content, I am certain, has never been witnessed on the Hindi screen before. Even some hugely popular reality shows that have the participants using the most appalling, colorful lingo to garner attention and TRPs, would pale into insignificance. Belonging to the same genre as THE HANGOVER and LOCK, STOCK & TWO SMOKING BARRELS, DELHI BELLY is the ultimate culture shock for Indian audiences. It is a raucous, boisterous, potty-mouthed caper featuring the antics of three hapless young men.

DELHI BELLY is a verbally explosive comical crime-caper, with a smart screenplay and witty dialogue as its aces. It is funny, has a lot of energy and most importantly, as you protest that Hindi movies thrive on beaten-to-death formula, a film like DELHI BELLY defies the stereotype and comes alive with a brand new recipe [writer: Akshat Verma]. The writing is airtight and the movie moves from one episode to another furiously. Original in style and thoroughly entertaining, backed by colorful characters and superior acting, there's no film quite like this one or should I say, there is no film that matches the sheer brilliance of DELHI BELLY. It's a top-quality comical thriller made with guts and gusto. I can assure, you will exit the auditorium with a grin on your face.

If a film like DELHI BELLY works -- which I am sure, it will -- it will propel film-makers to explore this untapped genre of cinema. It will encourage them to push the boundaries and undertake risks. It will usher in a new era of comedies of this kind that have never been explored on the Hindi screen.

Tashi [Imran Khan], Arup [Vir Das] and Nitin [Kunal Roy Kapur] -- flat mates, buddies and partners in crime. Tashi is to get married in a month to the glamorous Sonia [Shenaz Treasury]. Arun has been dumped by his girlfriend and also has an annoying boss [whose idea of creativity is sketching a smiling banana]. And Nitin is about to discover that eating delicious Tandoori Chicken off a street vendor is going to give him the worst case of Delhi Belly he's ever known!

Three regular blokes lead a regular life, except when they get on the hit list of a deadly crime syndicate [Vijay Raaz].

Director Abhinay Deo and writer Akshat Varma may have been inspired by the adult comedies of Hollywood, but DELHI BELLY is an Indian film at heart. The characters are very Indian and the humor, equally desi. As a matter of fact, there are situations and dialogue that the desis would take to instantly -- it's inherently Indian. Aimed squarely at the youth brigade, DELHI BELLY makes an undisguised, earnest attempt to woo this segment of moviegoers. What really works is its screenplay that packs one twist after another. You are as clueless as the on-screen characters about what's in store next. Also, the humor is very on the face and sardonic. It's not one of those humor-laden films that we've been subjected to of late. Here, the makers don't underline a joke, you need to be intelligent enough to comprehend it. This film speaks a language that the youth would connect with instantly and perhaps, it may go down as a cult film in its genre.

In terms of visuals, DELHI BELLY has been filmed at real locations and the DoP captures the essence of Delhi extremely well. The eye-candy locales are clearly missing here. Instead, what we get to watch are real locations, real lower middle class surroundings and the crammed bylanes of Delhi.

Much has been said and spoken about the music of DELHI BELLY. Let me add my bit. After delivering a likeable score in LUV KA THE END, Ram Sampat goes completely innovative and inventive with the soundtrack of this film. 'DK Bose' stands out and is the anthem of the youth. 'Jaa Chudail' is peppy and energetic, while the Aamir Khan track in the end credits ['I Hate You'] is more of a tribute to the disco era of the 1980s, when the Bappi-Mithun combo reigned supreme.

On the flip side, a film like DELHI BELLY may not be savored and relished by everyone. It's not for, what we label in filmi parlance, 'family audiences'. In fact, it might get a bit embarrassing to watch a film like DELHI BELLY with one's family thanks to the generous usage of expletives and toilet humor. Also, the hugely popular 'DK Bose' and 'Nakkaddwale Disco, Udhaarwale Khisko' songs merely play in the background and I for one sorely missed the eye-catching videos of these two tracks in the movie.

DELHI BELLY is a boy's film predominantly [although the women have key roles to play] and boy's films are always fun. The chemistry between the three actors is what makes the script come alive. In fact, I won't be wrong in stating that their sense of humor is very much in sync with each other. This is Imran's best work to date, no two opinions on it. Vir Das is incredible. Kunal Roy Kapur is the scene-stealer actually. As a matter of fact, the performances by these three actors will be the talking point once the film releases.

Shenaz Treasury acts well. Poorna Jagannathan gets into the skin of the character and catches your eye. Vijay Raaz is exceptional. Paresh Ganatra [the landlord] is equally competent. Rahul Singh is perfect. The Aamir Khan song is imaginatively filmed.

On the whole, DELHI BELLY is a ground-breaking and inventive comic caper targeted at the youth brigade. People who can't absorb brazen, grimy and unabashed language might abhor it; in fact, it's not for the straitlaced moralists or purists. It's for those who have a strong belly, with an appetite for adult comedy and cuss words. Its wittiness may astound and astonish you. I viewed the Hinglish version, but I understand that the Hindi interpretation of the movie is so impactful that it renders you speechless. Eventually, DELHI BELLY works big time predominantly for the reason that it's a pioneering motion picture, an incredible film that dares to pierce into an untapped and brand new terrain. The unblemished, racy screenplay coupled with super performances and a chartbusting musical score will make it a WINNER all the way.

Bbuddah...Hoga Terra Baap Movie Review By Taran Adarsh

Bbuddah...Hoga Terra Baap Movie Review By Taran Adarsh. Flashback 1970s and 1980s. An Amitabh Bachchan film was considered an event. A sea of people would make themselves comfortable outside the theatre premises on Sunday night itself, although the advance booking counters would open only on Monday morning. Most theatres would be packed for the entire week in a matter of hours. Most Bachchan starrers ran for 25 weeks, 50 weeks, even 100 + weeks those days. Films helmed by Yash Chopra, Manmohan Desai, Prakash Mehra and Ramesh Sippy were adored and revered and even those helmed by not-too-successful names or relative newcomers were greeted with similar enthusiasm. The Hindi film industry was referred to as a one-man industry then. The Bachchan mania was invincible and indestructible.

Considering the iconic status that Bachchan Sr has achieved, every film-maker aspires to work with him at least once in his lifetime. Puri Jagannadh, the man behind many a successful film in Telugu, pays homage to the veteran in his debut film in Hindi, BBUDDAH HOGA TERRA BAAP. This film relies entirely on the persona and charisma of this iconic actor of Indian cinema.

BBUDDAH HOGA TERRA BAAP has the 69-year-old Bachchan enacting the role of a defiant, flamboyant hitman in his inimitable style. With BBUDDAH HOGA TERRA BAAP, the angry young man of the 1970s and 1980s re-surfaces to re-live various roles that he enacted in those memorable films. This one's a masala film all the way. Right from a medley of Bachchan hits to the expertly crafted action sequences to the by-now-famous Bachchan baritone, this one has it all.

Frankly, masala films and path-breaking story don't go hand in hand. It's the moments that make a film. And BBUDDAH HOGA TERRA BAAP is no different. This one also rests on a skeletal plot. But that one man makes a world of a difference -- Amitabh Bachchan. He's angry [dare not call him 'Bbuddah'], but has a soft side too. He bashes the baddies, squeezing them like oranges. He gets the best lines to deliver and believe me, it makes the fan in you clap and cheer on several occasions. Let's face it, no Hindi film actor has ever had the opportunity to portray a part that Bachchan gets to portray at the ripe age of 69. Besides saluting the actor for delivering an electrifying performance, I would also like to salute the indomitable spirit and energy of this iconic actor for essaying the role with gusto and zest.

Final word? Bachchan fans -- especially those who have grown up on his movies -- are sure to relish it. Even if you're not a Bachchan fan, watch this one for one simple reason: They don't make them like Amitabh Bachchan anymore!

Viju [Amitabh Bachchan], an ex-gangster, arrives in Mumbai on a mission. He is flamboyant, wears loud clothes, is arrogant and hits back when people call him 'Bbuddah'. At first, everyone thinks that he's on a mission to assassinate the ACP [Sonu Sood], but there's a hidden agenda, which is revealed much later.

BUDDAH HOGA TERRA BAAP is a Hindi film packaged like a well-made South Indian fare: the style of narrating the story, the slick edit, the fast pacing, the stylized action scenes, the larger-than-life characters… The film commences on a pulsating note [Bachchan's intro is smashing], but the first hour works sporadically. While the portions involving Bachchan are exhilarating, there are multiple tracks in this hour which get on your nerves. The scenes in the coffee shop, for instance, are most irritating. Also, the track involving Raveena Tandon comes across like an unwanted guest. If the intention was to evoke laughter, sorry, it doesn't work.

The story actually takes off at the interval point, when an unexpected twist startles the viewer completely. From this point onwards, BBUDDAH HOGA TERRA BAAP only scales higher and higher, reaching the peak towards the action-packed finale and the subsequent emotional reunion. I'd like to single out the confrontation between Bachchan and Prakash Raj in the final moments of the film and also the soaked-in-emotions sequence between Bachchan and Hema. It's the perfect icing on the cake!

While the written material banks too heavily on the tried and tested formula, director Puri Jagannadh ensures that he doesn't disappoint the hardcore fans of the icon. Bachchan is known for, besides his acting potential, larger than life roles and witty/smart dialogue. Puri presents Bachchan like a true superstar and gives him lines that would garner ceetees and taalis, especially when he's confronting the baddies in the movie.

Vishal-Shekhar do a super job while composing the medley of Bachchan hits, 'Go Meera Go', the soft and soothing 'Haal-e-Dil' and the title track, which comes at the very start of the film. Amol Rathod's cinematography is perfect, while Vijay's stunts are stylish.

Bachchan is truly the Baap and this film reiterates this fact yet again. His character, his attitude and the dialogue he delivers will remain etched in your memory for a long, long time. His attire may raise eyebrows initially, but once into the film, you will realize it gels well with his character. Hema Malini is, as always, graceful. The chemistry between the senior actors is refreshing. Raveena is saddled with an ill-defined role and that's the prime reason why she doesn't leave an impact. Sonu Sood is first-rate, confident at every step. Not once do you feel that he's overawed by Bachchan's towering presence. Sonal Chauhan looks pretty and acts well. Charmee Kaur is likeable and contributes to the funny moments.

Prakash Raj is super. In fact, it's a treat to watch powerful actors like Bachchan and Prakash Raj embroiled in a confrontation. Makrand Deshpande is wonderful. Shahwar Ali is okay. Rajeev Mehta irritates. Again, this track seems completely unwanted. Rajeev Varma has a half-baked role. Vishwajeet Pradhan and Atul Parchure are passable.

On the whole, BBUDDAH HOGA TERRA BAAP is a must-watch for Bachchan fans. Even if you're not a fan of this iconic actor, watch it for a simple reason: They don't make them like Amitabh Bachchan anymore. A masala entertainer all the way, BBUDDAH HOGA TERRA BAAP may get affected by the omnipotent and unstoppable DELHI BELLY and TRANSFORMERS wave on Friday [although single screens would perform better than plexes], but the business should multiply on Saturday and Sunday due to Bachchan's bravura act and rock-solid post-interval portions. The producers [A.B. Corp, Viacom18] have already recovered the cost of production by selling the Satellite rights for a hefty sum and recovering the balance amount [P&A] from theatrical business should be a cakewalk, ensuring good profits to the investors in the final tally.

Anil Kapoor is upset with Aamir Khan For Delly Belly Song I Hate You

Anil Kapoor is upset with Aamir Khan For Delly Belly Song I Hate You
Anil Kapoor is upset with Aamir Khan For Delly Belly Song I Hate You

Buzz is that Anil Kapoor is upset with Aamir Khan for poking fun at him in his item song in Delhi Belly.

When Khan had launched his disco item number, he said that for the track he had taken inspiration from various yesteryears' actors, including Anil Kapoor for his hirsute look

An industry insider informed that initially Anil wasn't aware of being poked fun at as he wasn't in the city when Aamir unveiled the song I hate you like I love you last week. However, his family and friends haven't taken the Delhi Belly producer's banter too well.

At the meet, Mr Perfectionist had said, "The hairstyle is borrowed from Amitji, (Amitabh Bachchan), the dancing moves are inspired from Rishiji (Rishi Kapoor), Mithunda (Mithun Chakraborty) and Govinda, and the chest hair is inspired by Anil Kapoor."

Although Aamir was quick to say that he hoped Anil didn't mind his joking ways, it seems to have cut no ice with Kapoor family and friends.

A friend expressed shock saying, "Aamir may say he's just joking and he's sure it will be taken sportingly, but it's not done to demean Anil considering his caliber and achievements. It's certainly not in good taste."

A script writer who didn't wish to be named said, "Anil wasn't in the city when Aamir launched his song.

But when he heard about it in Toronto, where he was attending an award ceremony, he certainly didn't seem to be taking it as lightly as Aamir expected."

We tried contacting Anil, who's away in Los Angeles after attending an award show in Toronto, but he remained unavailable for comment.

Wonder if his being missing in action in the trailer of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol had added insult to injury. Or shouldn't we ask?

Uday Chopra Says he want to quit acting

Uday Chopra is all set to quit Bollywood.

The actor tweeted “Ok confession time… Dhoom 3 is my swan song… my last film… no I’m not giving up acting… quite the opposite, acting is giving up on me!”

Uday, debuted with Aditya Chopra’s Mohabbattein and remained in public memory because of his happy-go-lucky character as Ali Akbar Fateh in Dhoom and Dhoom 2. Just a few days back, Shilpa Shetty’s younger sister Shamita Shetty had announced that she was switching to interior decoration.

Interestingly, both Shamita and Uday debuted in the same film — Mohabbatein — in 2000

Aamir khan (delly belly) VS Amitabh Bachchan (Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap) this friday

Aamir khan (delly belly) VS Amitabh Bachchan (Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap) this friday

Two Bollywood stalwarts like Big B and Aamir Khan rarely clash at the box office. Amitabh Bachchan's Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap and Aamir Khan's Delhi Belly are all set to release this Friday. Both are drastically different films, but interestingly have similar marketing and publicity techniques.

Both have cashed on the burning topic 'the age limit for drinking in Maharshtra'. While Big B tweeted about it incessantly, Imran Khan announced his plans of filing a Public Interest Litigation. Both have relied on the strategy of abuse or not to abuse. While DB has 'in-your-face' songs with abundant use of double meaning words and expletives, AB's Bbuddah has beeped the abuses. Also, both Aamir and Big B have turned item boys for their respective films. With so much efforts being put in by both parties, it would be fun to see who wins this BO race on July 1

Recently FWICE halts Katrina kaif shoot for deodorant at Mehboob Studios

Recently, Katrina Kaif was shooting for a commercial for a leading brand of deodorant at Mehboob Studios, Mumbai. Amidst the shoot, members of FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) halted the shoot. The reason? Well, they had recently issued summons to Kats, as she is yet to fill the required forms and sign up for the FWICE's membership, as it's compulsory for every actor to be registered with the organization.

Reports have it that the said organization's members wanted to know her registration number. Because, she hasn't completed the legalities, they issued her a warning and told her to obey the rules and regulations of the body. The whole episode obviously upset Kats to no end. The issue was solved only after a call was made by none other than Salman Khan, who in turn assured the organization that Katrina will complete the registration. It's only after this assurance, did the shooting resumed to normalcy.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Chaturvedi, President-FWICE said that they wanted to know why Katrina still isn't a member of the organization. He also confirmed to getting a call from Salman assuring that the needful will be done. Chaturvedi also added that the card only costs Rs 600, has many benefits including insurance amongst others.

Madhur Bhandarkar Says He Can't shoot with pregnant Aishwarya

Director Madhur Bhandarkar shelves his dream project, 'Heroine'

News of Aishwarya Rai's pregnancy has come as a shock to director Madhur Bhandarkar, who has now decided to shelve his ambitious venture, Heroine.

According to sources, Bhandarkar was blissfully ignorant about her pregnancy and was busy making ambitious plans for his film.

However, now his dreams have come crashing down as he has realised that there is no way he can shoot the film with the dates given to him by the actress.

Also, the role requires her to smoke, dance, run around and do things, which are normally not advisable for a pregnant woman.

Even though Aishwarya is ready to shoot on the given dates, Madhur doesn't want to go ahead.

Apart from being worried about not being able to shoot with a five-month pregnant Ash, he is also concerned that she might not be available when the post-production and promotional work starts.

While the director has decided to go underground for a while, presumably because of this huge disappointment, a friend close to him informs, "About R 3.5-4 crore have gone down the drain.

About ten days of the shoot were completed at a set in Vile Parle, Mumbai.

The special set was erected and a red light area was recreated in it. Madhur was really excited about this movie. But because of the circumstances, he has no option but to shelve the project. No one anticipated this situation."

'Expecting' losses..
It is also said that a cosmetic brand that Aishwarya endorses, had invested R 50 lakh in the film, as sponsorship fees. Producers UTV Motion Pictures apparently stand to lose about R 3.5 crore in the bargain.

Arshad Warsi Wants Kangana Ranaut to be in Ishqiya sequel

Wants director to cast his 'Double Dhamaal' co-star in 'Ishqiya' sequel

Now that we know Vidya Balan is not playing the lead in Ishqiya sequel, it is a big question as to who will replace her.

However, from what we have heard Arshad Warsi, who starred in the prequel alongside Vidya and Naseeruddin Shah, has already made his choice.

He is keen on having his Double Dhamaal co-star Kangna Ranaut in it and is pushing filmmakers to cast her.

Open suggestions
An industry insider informs, "He has recommended her name to director Abhishek Chaubey and producer Vishal Bharadwaj and Ketan Maroo because he strongly feels that she suits the role and is a perfect femme fatale."

Both the actors worked together for the first time in the recently released DD and bonded big time.

Another source adds, "After rom-com Tanu Weds Manu and comedy Double Dhamaal, Kangna's versatility as an actress has been established.

These films have proved the audiences have accepted her. All these factors make her a strong contender for the role."

It's not Arshad
However, a friend of Kangna says it's not Arshad but the producer and director of the film who have approached her for the sequel.

"Abhishek and Ketan met and gave her a narration. She would love to work with them but she still has to work out her dates. Arshad has nothing to do with it. He got to know about it much later."

Both Kangna and Arshad were unavailable for comment, but we spoke to director Abhishek Chaubey. "We are still writing the script.

We haven't even thought about casting yet. Kangna is a fantastic actor. Once the character is formed only then we will know whether she is suited for it or not," he said.

Katrina Kaif Will Go On Stage for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan Movie Live

It's fun time for Katrina Kaif. It looks like she has decided to discard her habitually solemn demeanor to have some serious fun. And if 'serious fun' sounds like a contradiction in terms, it nonetheless describes her state of mind to perfection.

And if she has decided to be in the fun zone at the moment, a lot of that zest to be happy comes from the company that she's been keeping lately. Imran Khan, her co-star in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, has been "really cool company" for Katrina.

Says a friend of the actress, "Katrina found herself warming up not only to Imran but also to his family Avantika. She felt she was part of a family."

And the 'family' has convinced Katrina to go on stage for what is secretly being termed the 'Dulhan' gigs.

Says a source, "The Mere Brother Ki Dulhan producers Yash Raj plan to put Katrina, Imran and Ali Zafar on stage to promote the film. Ali who plays one of the leads asked Katrina if she too would accompany him for the gigs that would take them to several metros. At first Katrina laughed off his suggestion. When Ali was adamant, she wanted to know what she would do on stage. Ali suggested she join him to sing. And Katrina is game."

As things stand the Mere Brother Ki Dulhan live concerts would be Katrina's first ever live concerts. Katrina can't wait.

Double Dhamaal Movie Review, Movie Review Of Double Dhamaal

Double Dhamaal Movie Review, Movie Review Of Double Dhamaal
Double Dhamaal Movie Review, Movie Review Of Double Dhamaal

Yet another sequel of a well-liked franchise makes it to cineplexes; this one's helmed by Indra Kumar, the King of Melodrama. The challenge evidently lies in making DOUBLE DHAMAAL far more engaging, compelling and amusing than the first in this series. Right from DIL, his directorial debut, to DHAMAAL, his last outing, Indra Kumar has integrated a generous dose of light moments in all his films, irrespective of the genre. And he's got it right most of the times!

The four jokers [Arshad, Riteish, Javed, Aashish] reunite to cause a comic riot in the much-anticipated follow-up DOUBLE DHAMAAL. DHAMAAL was a laugh-riot and was, in fact, one of the earlier films that gave an impetus to the trend of attempting madcap entertainers.

A word of caution, though. It's outrageous and ridiculous... yet extremely funny and hugely entertaining. As we are well aware, the sole motive of a motion picture of the DOUBLE DHAMAAL variety is to entertain the viewer. Such nutty escapades are not fashioned to appease or mollify a miniscule minority of those viewers who are not in sync with the sensibilities and receptivity of a majority of moviegoers. DOUBLE DHAMAAL is also not for those who loathe and abominate desi masala movies and label them 'brain dead' or 'cheesy, low-brow humor'. All Time Blockbusters like DABANGG, GOLMAAL 3, even 3 IDIOTS and GHAJINI and more recently READY were not spared by the skeptics, but the audience mandate proved the inflexible cynics wrong and how! Very evidently, DOUBLE DHAMAAL is targeted at the massive number of spectators who relish zany capers.

Packed with hilarious moments, amusing gags, witty one-liners and uproarious situational comedy, DOUBLE DHAMAAL lives up to its name and is in a league and genre of its own. It's double the fun and double the guffaws this time. The humor here is poles apart when compared to the MUNNABHAI or GOLMAAL series, yet the objective of each of those films has been to woo lovers of desi masala movies.

DOUBLE DHAMAAL works for varied reasons...
One, the jokes and gags are of a much enhanced quality. A few clutch-my-tummy-and-cackle situations are juxtaposed with the regular loud jesting without a glitch.
Two, the presence of the glam quotient spices up the proceedings [DHAMAAL was an all-male film]. In fact, both Mallika and Kangna are an integral part of the plot.
Three, it appears superior in terms of visuals and also production design. The dazzling locales of Macau are pure eye-candy.
Most significantly, the highpoint of DOUBLE DHAMAAL isn't its script alone. Rather, it is also the imposing chemistry between the boys.

As a matter of fact, we've become so habituated to crudeness in the name of hilarity that we've forgotten to value uncontaminated comedies. Which is why I want to roll out the carpet for DOUBLE DHAMAAL, which is a genuinely witty, plot-driven comedy. Sure, there are few double entendres, but they aren't detestable or distasteful. In fact, DOUBLE DHAMAAL is so asinine and goofy that you might want to forewarn people that they may fall off their chairs, guffawing at the most banal jokes.

All said and done, DOUBLE DHAMAAL is an epidemic of laughter which has all it takes to take the franchise to the next level.

The four good-for-nothing jokers from DHAMAAL -- Roy [Ritesh Deshmukh], Adi [Arshad Warsi], Manav [Jaaved Jaaferi] and Boman [Aashish Chaudhry] -- are back again! They are still as stupid and useless as before. Hard work is a strict no and the only work they have ever done in their lives is to lie down on their backside and dream about a good life where they have everything without doing anything!

And then suddenly they spot their enemy -- the corrupt Insp. Kabir Nayak [Sanjay Dutt]. But he's no longer a cop and instead of chasing crooks, he's chasing money -- driving a Merc, has a posh office and a lavish villa. The four mad caps are green with envy and decide that come what may, by hook or by crook, they will share Kabir's good fortune. And so they blackmail Kabir into making them his business partners.

What they don't know is that soon their dreams are going to turn into nightmares because Kabir has his own hidden agenda, only shared by his sultry girlfriend Kamini [Mallika Sherawat] and sister Kiya [Kangna Ranaut]. And so starts a game of one-upmanship, with both sides having tricks up their sleeves and where sundry characters like Batabhai [Satish Kaushik] and King of Casino, Bonzola, turn up to make their life miserable.

DOUBLE DHAMAAL sets in motion with a speedy recap of the first part, to facilitate those who may have watched it but don't recollect the film vividly or those who haven't watched the first part and are clueless about the characters. That helps in getting acquainted with the basic plot and characters at the very outset. In fact, the film takes off from exactly the same point where the prequel concluded.

DOUBLE DHAMAAL works primarily because it's an ingeniously written film that moves briskly from one gag to another, leaving no moment in between to contemplate. You may trace the jokes to some films of yore, but the manner in which these yarns are unified in the airtight screenplay [Tushar Hiranandani] merits an ovation.

Since the expectations are monstrous from this flick, Indra Kumar seems focused on meeting those expectations. The perfect execution of the script by the director combined with the brilliant comic timing of the actors assures you that the franchise is in safe hands. Also, I'd like to make a note of the witty, brilliant dialogues [Farhad-Sajid] that spice up the proceedings well. Music has always played an integral part in Indra Kumar's movies and though DHAMAAL didn't have a great soundtrack, DOUBLE DHAMAAL has two sprightly and infectious tracks [Anand Raaj Anand] that compliment the movie well -- the title track and 'Jalebi Bai'. Aseem Bajaj's cinematography is top notch. He captures the grandiose look on celluloid splendidly.

This comic-and-wit contest is so intense that it is unfeasible to single out any one actor as the scene-stealer. Arshad, Riteish, Jaaved and Aashish are no aliens to tomfoolery and each one of them carries off their scenes with aplomb. Each of them is a born-laugh-raiser, actually. Riteish is simply outstanding. It won't be wrong to state that this is his career-best work. Arshad's comic timing is amazing and it's evident yet again. Jaaved is super. It's a tough part to handle and he does it with amazing ease. Aashish is a complete revelation; he brings the house down with his act. The usage of prosthetics grants a lot of definition to this outrageously comical character. In fact, the four actors co-ordinate well to make the goings-on look flawless and unblemished. Also, the various getups and makeup of all the actors deserve a special mention.

Just as it's impossible to imagine GOLMAAL without Ajay, it's hard to think of DHAMAAL without Sanju. He's not so much a part of the comedy as he is the catalyst for much of it... and he's the best man for the job. Both Mallika and Kangna have key roles to play and don't come across as mere props. Mallika is excellent and this film will make people realize that she can handle comic roles with effortlessness. Kangna is equally competent and her scenes with Riteish are sure to be noticed. Satish Kaushik is in top form. In fact, he's bound to walk away with ceetees and taalis whenever he appears... also towards the end. Zakir Hussain is adequate.

On the whole, DOUBLE DHAMAAL is a seriously hilarious movie that lives up to its title -- it's double dhamaal all the way. If you are not looking for wisdom and rationale in a light-hearted entertainer, I am sure you will savor this carnival of claptrap. Sometimes, a good laugh is all you need to make your day. Try not to miss this one, it pledges hilarity in abundance... Carrying a positive vibe and a high degree of expectation, the film is tipped to be 'hot' amongst viewers and is likely to embark on a strong initial at the box-office. Here's hoping that the first half of 2011 closes on a dhamaal note with DOUBLE DHAMAAL.

Lyrics Of Song : Dil Dhadakne Do

Hey hey
Chalo na
Tum bhi shehar naya
Jahan muskurahatien hai bikhri
Jahan gum ka mausam gaya
Jahan meethi baatein
Har ek ajnabi se ho..
Bhulein hum bhi jo
Saari fikrein
Lamha lamha
Kushiyan bikhrein

Idhar Udhar
Aur yahan wahan
Jayein wahin
Dil kahe jahan
Baby baby..baby..

Kab tak ginee..
Hum dhadkanein
Dil jaise dhadake
Dhadakne do
Tu hai koi..
Ajnabi
Shola jo bhadke
Bhadakne do

Hey hey
Chalo na
Gayein naye naye geet
Khel aisa kyun koi na khele
Jisme sab hi ki ho jeet
In dino phool aur taare
Koi bhi dekhta nahi
Dekhe unko deewane hoke
Koi kitna bhi humko toke

Khuli hawa ho
Khula samah
Jaage huye ho
Sab armaan
Baby baby..baby..

Kab tak ginee..
Hum dhadkanein
Dil jaise dhadake
Dhadakne do
Tu hai koi..
Ajnabi
Shola jo bhadke
Bhadakne do

Humse dil ne kahin
Jo baatein
Aao maan le
Jispe chalta nahi hai koi
Raah woh chale
Thodi aawargi ho
Thodi thodi madhosiyan ho
Baby hum ho tum ho
Baby tell me

Kab tak ginee..
Hum dhadkanein
Dil jaise dhadake
Dhadakne do
Tu hai koi..
Ajnabi
Shola jo bhadke
Bhadakne do

Kab tak ginee..
Hum dhadkanein
Dil jaise dhadake
Dhadakne do
Tu hai koi..
Ajnabi
Shola jo bhadke
Bhadakne do

Kab tak ginee..
Hum dhadkanein
Dil jaise dhadake
Dhadakne do
Tu hai koi..
Ajnabi
Shola jo bhadke
Bhadakne do

Lyrics Of Song : Khaabon Ke Parinday

Khaabon Ke Parinday Lyrics

Ude khule aasaman mein
Khaabon ke parindey
Koode dil ki joh haan mein
Khaabon ke parindey

Oho..

Kya pata
Jayenge kahan
Khule hai jo pur
Kahe yeh nazar
Lagta hai
Ab hai jaage hum
Fikrein jo thi
Peeche reh gayi
Nikle unse aage hum

Hawa mein beh rahi
Hai zindagi
Yeh hum se keh rahi
Hai zindagi
Oho..ab toh
Jo bhi ho so ho

Ude khule aasaman mein
Khaabon ke parindey
Koode dil ki joh haan mein
Khaabon ke parindey

Oho..

Kya pata
Jayenge kahan
Kisi ne chuha
Toh yeh hua
Phirte hai
Mehke mehke hum
Koi hain kahin
Baatein nayi
Jab hai aise
Behke hum

Hua hai yoon
Ke dil pe dil gaye
Bas ek pal mein
Hum badal gaye
Oho..ab toh
Jo bhi ho so ho

Roshni mili..
Ab raah mein hai
Dilkashi si barsi
Har khusi mili
Ab zindagi pe hai
Zindagi si barsi
Ab jeena humne
Seekha hai

Yaad hai kal
Aaya tha woh pal
Jisme jadoo aisa tha
Hum ho gaye
Jaise naye
Woh pal jane kaisa tha
Kahe yeh dil
Ki jao dil ki dua
Jahan bhi leke jaye aarzoo
Oho..ab toh
Jo bhi ho so ho

Jo bhi ho so ho
Ude..

Jo bhi ho so ho
Ude..

Jo bhi ho so h

Lyrics Of Song : Senorita

Na main samjha
Na main jaana
Jo bhi tumne
Mujhse kaha hai
Senorita
magar phir bhi
Na jane kyun
Mujhe sunke
Acha laga hai
Senorita

Mujhko baahon mein
Tum ghero
Samjhi na
Senorita

Chahat ke do
Pal bhi
Mil payein
Duniya mein
Yeh bhi kum
Hai kya
Do pal ko
Toh aao
Kho jaaye
Bhule hum
hota gum hai kya
Senorita
Suno suno
Senorita
Kehte hum hai kya

Nighaon ne nighaon se
Kahi armaanon ki dastaan hai
Senorita
Yeh chahat ki
Mohabbat ki
Sari duniya mein
Ek hi zubaan hai
Senorita

Mujhse ab nazar na phero
Aao paas tum mere
Mujhko baahon mein
Tum ghero
Samjhi na
Senorita

Chahat ke do
Pal bhi
Mil payein
Duniya mein
Yeh bhi kum
Hai kya
Do pal ko
Toh aao
Kho jaaye
Bhule hum
hota gum hai kya
Senorita
Suno suno
Senorita
Kehte hum hai kya

Jo bhi pal beeta
Hey senorita
Har pal tumne hai
Dil jeeta
Bus itni si toh
Baat hai

Mujhko baahon mein
Tum ghero
Samjhi na
Senorita

Chahat ke do
Pal bhi
Mil payein
Duniya mein
Yeh bhi kum
Hai kya
Do pal ko
Toh aao
Kho jaaye
Bhule hum
hota gum hai kya

Chahat ke do
Pal bhi
Mil payein
Duniya mein
Yeh bhi kum
Hai kya
Do pal ko
Toh aao
Kho jaaye
Bhule hum
hota gum hai kya

Lyrics Of Song : Der Lagi Lekin

Der lagi lekin
Maine ab hai
Jeena seekh liya
Jaise bhi ho din
Maine ab hai
Jeena seekh liya
Ab maine…
Yeh jaana hai
Khushi hai kya
Gum kya..
Dono hi
Do pal ki hai rutein
Na yeh there na rukein
Zindagi do rangon se bane
Ab roothe ab mane
Yeh hi toh hai
Yeh hi toh hai
Yahan..

Der lagi lekin
Maine ab hai
Jeena seekh liya
Aansuon ke bin
Maine ab hai
Jeena seekh liya
Ab maine..
Yeh jaana hai
Kise kahoon apna
Hai koi
Jo yeh mujhse keh gaya
Yeh kahan tu reh gaya
Zindagi toh hai jaisa carvaan
Tu hai tanha kab yahan
Sab hi toh hai
Sab hi toh hai
Yahan..

Koi sunaye joh
Hasti muskarati kahani
Kehta hai dil
Main bhi sunu
Aanson ke moti ho
Jo kisi ke nishani
Kehta hai dil
Main bhi chunu
Bhaayein dil ki
Ho bhaaon mein
Chalta chalu
Yuhin rahon mein
Bus yuhin
Ab yahan
Ab wahan

Der lagi lekin
Maine ab hai
Jeena seekh liya
Aansuon ke bin
Maine ab hai
Jeena seekh liya

Hai koi
Jo yeh mujhse keh gaya
Yeh kahan tu reh gaya
Zindagi toh hai jaisa carvaan
Tu hai tanha kab yahan
Sab hi toh hai
Sab hi toh hai
Yahan..

Sab hi toh hai
Sab hi toh hai
Yahan..

Sab hi toh hai
Sab hi toh hai
Yahan.

Lyrics Of Song : Sooraj Ki Baahon Mein

Sooraj ki baahon mein
Ab hai yeh zindagi
Kiraney hai saanson mein
Baaton mein roshni

Sooraj ki baahon mein
Ab hai yeh zindagi
Kiraney hai saanson mein
Baaton mein roshni

Jo bhi badali
Dil ki taal hai
Ahan..
Yuhin hi aaya
Ik khayal hai
Ahan..

Paate hai hum hai
Zindagi ek baar
Kyun na kare khulke
Hum isko pyar
Jane kiska hai
Hume intezar
Kis noodh ki
Yahi hai aur yahi

Jo bhi kal tak
bus tha aarzo
Aahon mein
Woh hi paa gaye hai
Main aur tu
Baahon mein
Thame ab haathon mein
Yuhin haath
Shehar milke ghoomenge
Saath saath
saare saare din
Saari saari raat

Daras rahi hai
ek khushi har kahin

Sooraj ki baahon mein
Ab hai yeh zindagi
Kiraney hai saanson mein
Baaton mein roshni

Sooraj ki baahon mein
Ab hai yeh zindagi
Kiraney hai saanson mein
Baaton mein roshni

Naye naye sapne
Jo bun sake
Usi zindagi ko
Kahoon zindagi
Naye naye raste
Jo chun sake
Usi zindagi ko
Kahoon zindagi

Har pal machalti ho
Jhoom ke chalti ho
woh hai zindagi

Sooraj ki baahon mein
Ab hai yeh zindagi
Kiraney hai saanson mein
Baaton mein roshni

Sooraj ki baahon mein
Ab hai yeh zindagi
Kiraney hai saanson mein
Baaton mein roshni

Paate hai hum hai
Zindagi ek baar
Kyun na kare khulke
Hum isko pyar
Jane kiska hai
Hume intezar
Kis noodh ki
Yahi hai aur yahi

Sooraj ki baahon mein
Ab hai yeh zindagi
Kiraney hai saanson mein
Baaton mein roshni

Sooraj ki baahon mein
Ab hai yeh zindagi
Kiraney hai saanson mein
Baaton mein roshni

Sooraj ki..
Ab hai..
Kiraney hai saanson mein
Baaton mein roshn
